Virtual Dyno is a free PC software for cars that simulates a 'Dyno' (or Dynamometer), a device that measures force, torque and power. It provides you an easier interface compared to, probably, copying and pasting data into an Excel spreadsheet that does HP/Torque calculations for you. It uses data captured by your car data logger as its input. Once Virtual Dyno has the data, the software will calculate HP/Torque for a given datalog and prepare useful graphs that tell you how your car is performing. It also creates pictures of your dyno graphs that may be posted on forums, emailed to your friends or compared with others.
In many practical cases, values calculated by Virtual Dyno have been found remarkably accurate when compared with actuals. However, the developer cautions the user to use this program 'for comparison purposes and testing purposes only'. You may use it to confirm estimates given by someone else, but use of this software is NOT recommended as a substitute for actual dyno tests/measurements.
Vritual Engine Calculator calculates all the measurements required for engines.
